Superintendent

Dr. France, Superintendent of Valley Stream UFSD 30.Greetings, the friendly schools !

As we welcome students, staff, and families to the 2026-2027 school year, we are excited to begin a year defined by reflection, collaboration, and continued growth. Our theme, Minds in Motion, reflects our commitment to creating engaging learning experiences that inspire curiosity, creativity, and innovation through our Arts in Education initiative.

This year marks an important point in our District's journey. As we continue implementing our current Strategic Plan, we are also beginning the collaborative process of developing our next five-year Strategic Plan for 2027-2032. Through our partnership with Hanover Research, the Strategic Planning Committee, Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment Committee (CIAC), Professional Learning Communities, community surveys, focus groups, and ongoing engagement with students, families, faculty, staff, and community members, we will gather diverse perspectives to help shape the future of Valley Stream 30.

The work ahead builds upon the strong foundation created by our educators and school community. The recommendations of CIAC, the collaboration of our Professional Learning Communities, and the voices of our stakeholders continue to guide our priorities in curriculum, instruction, assessment, social-emotional learning, and family engagement. As we welcome new leaders and honor the contributions of those whose dedicated service has shaped our schools, we embrace this period of transition as an opportunity to strengthen the systems and practices that support every learner.

Throughout the year, we remain focused on continuous improvement, using evidence, research, and community feedback to refine our work while remaining true to our mission of educating and inspiring every student to achieve their fullest potential as global leaders of tomorrow.

We look forward to partnering with our entire school community as we keep our minds in motion and continue building a future where every student can learn, grow, and succeed.
