Use of Facilities

In accordance with Policy #1500 Public Use of School Facilities, the Board of Education recognizes that the buildings and grounds are a valuable community resource and believes that this resource should be available to the community for specific uses that will not interfere with educational activities. Request may be made for the use of school facilities under appropriate circumstances. Applications and Permits for use of buildings should be made directly to the Facilities Office.

USE OF FACILITIES PROCESS

How to Request Use of School Facilities

  1. Complete the Application
    Fill out the facilities use application and gather all required documents:

    • Insurance documentation

    • Complete rosters

    • Any additional required forms

  2. Submit Your Application
    Deliver your completed application packet to:
    Facilities Office
    175 N. Central Avenue, Suite 220
    Valley Stream, NY 11580

  3. Wait for Approval — Do Not Schedule Yet

    • Your application will be reviewed by District Administration.

    • If complete and valid, it will be submitted to the Board of Education for approval at the next regular board meeting.

    • Important: Do not schedule or advertise your event until you receive official approval.

  4. Get Notified

    • The day after the Board Meeting, District Staff will contact you to let you know whether your request has been approved.

This process is in accordance with Policy #1150: Public Use of Facilities.
