Shaw Avenue’s Play Day was filled with excitement, laughter, and unforgettable memories as students enjoyed a day packed with fun and friendly competition! Throughout the day, students participated in a variety of engaging activities, including water balloon tosses, tug-of-war, parachute games, relay races, and many other exciting events.
The smiles, teamwork, sportsmanship, and enthusiasm displayed by our students made the day a tremendous success. Play Day provided a wonderful opportunity for students to stay active, build friendships, and celebrate the end of the school year together.
A special thank you to our staff, volunteers, and families who helped make this day so memorable for our Shaw students. It was truly a fantastic day of fun, laughter, and school spirit!

Ms. Yochai's and Ms. Lipski's 2nd graders had a wonderful day on their walking trip to the Waldinger Library! Students enjoyed exploring our community together, sharing conversations along the way, and spending time with friends.
At the library, the librarian welcomed us with stories, activities, and a tour that left everyone excited to return this summer. We ended the day with a picnic on the great lawn, making memories filled with learning, community, friendship, and fun. What a fantastic day!
Mrs. Forcina's Pre-K students have been working hard to build their early reading skills by learning and recognizing sight words. As children become familiar with these high frequency words, they are beginning to see them all around them in environmental print- such as store signs, labels, logos and classroom materials.
By connecting sight words to the print they encounter in everyday life, students are developing confidence as readers and discovering that reading is all around them. We are so proud of them! We sure are getting ready for kindergarten!

Mrs. Gangi and Ms. V’s class had an amazing Writing Celebration with their families. The young authors proudly shared their published books that they have worked on throughout the year.
Families enjoyed seeing all of the incredible progress and growth the writers made this year. Way to go authors!

Shaw Avenue’s Field Day was an action-packed day full of energy, teamwork, and school spirit! Students enjoyed a variety of outdoor activities and challenges, including relay races, parachute games, tug-of-war, water balloon events, and many other exciting stations.
Throughout the day, students cheered one another on, demonstrated great sportsmanship, and created lasting memories with their classmates. The excitement and enthusiasm were evident across every event, making Field Day a highlight of the school year.
Thank you to our dedicated staff and volunteers and especially our Phys. Ed Dept. for helping provide such a fun and memorable experience for our students. What a fantastic day at Shaw Avenue!
Our Kindergarten Writing Celebration was a wonderful opportunity for students to showcase the growth, creativity, and confidence they have developed as writers throughout the year.
Families and special guests enjoyed listening to student stories, admiring their illustrations, and celebrating their hard work.
A special thank you to Mrs. Roberts' first-grade class for visiting and sharing thoughtful compliments that made our young authors feel proud of their accomplishments.

Our fourth-grade students put on a wonderful performance for families and our third-grade students during this year's Fourth Grade Concert! The Band, Chorus, and Orchestra showcased their hard work, dedication, and musical talents through an impressive selection of songs and performances.
Students demonstrated confidence, teamwork, and a love of music as they shared what they have learned throughout the year. We are incredibly proud of our talented performers and grateful to our music teachers for helping create such a memorable experience.
