Our kindergarten classes visited the Science Center at Washington Avenue, where they engaged in an exciting, hands-on learning experience. Mr. Carr led an interactive lesson on the life cycle of butterflies and moths, helping students deepen their understanding of these fascinating insects. Students had the unique opportunity to hold live caterpillars and even experienced the joy of having butterflies gently land on their heads. It was a memorable and enriching trip that brought science to life for our young learners.

At Shaw Avenue, every day counts! Regular attendance helps students stay connected, build strong routines, and fully engage in learning. When students are present, they grow academically, socially, and emotionally alongside their peers. Shaw Ave is the place to be, and we look forward to seeing our students in school each and every day!

Mrs Eckert brought excitement to these 2nd graders by introducing a fun, hands-on game to build place value skills. Using 10-sided dice and game boards, students rolled numbers, worked together, and practiced understanding tens and ones in an engaging way. Students took turns leading the class in this new game.  The activity encouraged collaboration, critical thinking, and lots of smiles as learning turned into play.

Mrs.Forcina’s Pre-K class has been getting ready to celebrate Earth Day next week. We have been learning all about the importance of caring for our planet. As they painted, traced, and glued their craft, we talked about simple ways we can all help the Earth- like recycling, saving water and being kind to nature. Their beautiful creations are a reminder that even our youngest learners can make a big difference in keeping our world, clean and green!
