Students in Mr. Gianesse’s class engaged in STEM centers where they explored hands-on activities that encouraged problem-solving, collaboration, and critical thinking. Through building, designing, and testing their ideas, students worked together to apply science, technology, engineering, and math concepts in meaningful ways. It was great to see their creativity, teamwork, and excitement as they explored and learned through these interactive experiences!

Spring has sprung in Ms. Sinclair's Pre-K class! These Pre-K students were the only sunshine these flowers needed in order to beautifully bloom! As they enhanced their fine motor skills by coloring, cutting, gluing, and painting, students in Ms. SInclair's Pre-K class had so much fun creating their very own flowers and eggs to welcome in the spring season!

Mrs. Belmonte’s Pre-K class is busy learning how to write letters the proper way using Fundations writing boards. Students are enjoying using the special boards and markers as they practice forming their letters correctly!

6th grade went on a field trip to Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament. Students experienced a traditional medieval tournament featuring exciting jousting matches on horseback while enjoying a typical medieval feast. They proudly cheered on their knight in red and yellow, waving flags and showing their support throughout the event—it was a great time for all!

We continued to learn about Eid in kindergarten this week.  Miss Nageer and Miss Sheikh taught our class about Henna, also known as mehndi.  Students looked at artifiacts with henna on them.  Miss Sheikh also drew a henna design on Mrs. Tyler.  Students created their own henna designs on cardboard.  We enjoyed learning from the experts.

In Ms. Gangi’s class, students took on a STEM challenge to build a rainbow strong enough to hold a cup of coins using only two balls of clay and pipe cleaners. Working in pairs, students collaborated, tested their ideas, and learned that revising and retrying is an important part of the process. Two partnerships successfully engineered rainbows that held a cup with 100 coins—an impressive accomplishment!

The 2nd graders tilling Ms Yochai’s class has their final Enrichment class of this year. Throughout their lessons they practiced origami and wrote goals. Today they reflected on their learning while sharing their projects. What a meaningful way to celebrate growth and creativity.

Mr. Smith worked with Mr. Rau’s class as students explored the basics of coding robots. Students were engaged in hands-on learning, developing problem-solving skills while programming and testing their robots in action!

Ms. Critelli & Ms. V's second grade class earned a compliment party and celebrated in the coziest way with our favorite stuffed animal friends by our side!

Shaw Avenue’s Meet and Greet Team supported families during Parent-Teacher Conferences by escorting parents to their child’s classroom. Along the way, students engaged in brief, polite conversations, demonstrating leadership, responsibility, and strong communication skills.
