Mrs. Forcina’s Pre-K class had a great time creating leprechaun traps with their families! Students proudly shared their creative designs—from rainbow ladders to “gold” bait—and explained how they built them. This fun activity sparked imagination, problem-solving, and lots of excitement leading up to St. Patrick’s Day.

Sixth grade students met with high school district counselors to begin preparing for their transition to 7th grade. Students learned about expectations, schedules, and had the opportunity to ask questions, helping them feel more confident and ready for the next step.

Ms. Yochai's class enjoyed a lively St. Patrick’s Day filled with learning and fun! A mischievous leprechaun left a silly note after taking their gold coins, adding excitement to the day. Students learned Irish step dance, shared lucky moments, and surveyed classmates about four-leaf clovers—making it a day full of laughter, connection, and festive spirit.

Students from Mrs Cerrone and Mrs Rudy's class came to present to Mrs Dembinski's class about the importance of Black History Month. They taught them about important people who helped make the world better. They spoke about interesting facts, like Harriet Tubman's real name is Araminta Ross and how people had certain hairdos to show in secret they were an allys. Thank you to these brave students for educating Kindergarten student's about Black History Month.

Ms. Franks’ class had fun exploring fractions! Students identified and modeled fractions using hands-on strategies, helping to deepen their understanding of parts of a whole. This engaging lesson strengthened their math skills while building confidence and enthusiasm for learning.

Ms. Malone and the Shaw Panther celebrated St. Patrick’s Day with lively Irish step dancing, bringing energy and excitement to the day! With big smiles and impressive moves, they showcased their school spirit while embracing the festive tradition. It was a fun and memorable way to celebrate, filled with laughter, movement, and lots of Panther pride.

Shaw Avenue students are shining through the arts! From band and orchestra to visual art, students are expressing their creativity while building confidence and collaboration skills. It’s inspiring to see their talent and Panther pride come to life across all areas of the arts.

Marking Period 2 Report Cards are now available on Parent Portal.  Please take time to review your child's progress toward meeting grade-level standards for this marking period.  The district uses a standards-based report card to assess each child's progress toward meeting grade-level expectations within that marking period.  Here is the link(Click Here) to our district website, which has more information about standards-based report cards. Please note that students who are in Quest or receive AIS/RTI Reading, Math, SEL, and ENL services will receive a paper copy of the progress report.

As a reminder, Parent Teacher Conferences will be held on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, from 12:30-4:15 PM and on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, from 12:30-2:50 PM.  If you have any questions about your child's progress or to schedule a conference, please reach out to your child's classroom teacher.

1. Sign in to Parent Portal: https://parentportal-ren.eschooldata.com/valleystream30ufsd
2. Click on the ID number for your child
3. At the top of the screen, click on Standards-Based Report Cards
