Ms. Yochai’s second graders turned into mathematicians and engineers! 📏✏️
Students created their own measuring tapes and worked with partners to measure classroom objects, record results, and share their discoveries with the class. This hands-on activity built measurement skills, teamwork, and math communication—while making learning fun and engaging!

Ms. Sinclair's Pre-K class celebrated 2026 by strengthening our fine motor skills! The students had a great time cutting, crumpling, and gluing tissue paper to create 2026 signs!

After the winter break, Ms. Lichter’s class participated in a fun, interactive activity to reconnect and rebuild their classroom community. Working in groups, students asked and answered questions from task cards that encouraged them to share about their break.

Ms. Yochai’s and Ms. Rosenthal’s classes came together to spread kindness by creating Valentine’s cards for veterans ❤️🇺🇸
Students worked side by side, sharing thoughtful messages and artwork to show appreciation and gratitude. This meaningful activity fostered collaboration, empathy, and community while giving students the opportunity to make a positive impact beyond the classroom.

Mr. Rau’s and Mr. Winston’s classes made great use of their I/E time by working together in a focused and supportive learning environment. Students were actively engaged, collaborating with peers and building skills as they worked toward their learning goals.
Shaw Avenue is approaching a 90% attendance rate among our students, with a continued goal of reaching that mark and increasing it further. Regular attendance is an important part of a child’s academic success and social development, and we appreciate our families’ partnership in supporting consistent, on-time attendance.
