On June 18, kindergartners at Shaw Avenue School in Valley Stream District 30 flew over the rainbow during their moving up ceremony.

Held in the school’s auditorium, a colorful rainbow served as the backdrop as kindergartners stood proudly on stage in front of their families and teachers. Students performed numerous songs for their family members that were focused on bright rainbows and taking the next step in their lives. Principal Erin Malone also recognized each student for all of their accomplishments. Afterward, each kindergarten teacher created a thoughtful video slideshow to recap an unforgettable year of kindergarten at Shaw Avenue. Additionally, Superintendent of Schools Dr. Roxanne Garcia-France congratulated the kindergartners on taking the next step to first grade.

The district congratulates Shaw Avenue’s youngest learners on completing kindergarten and wishes them all the best in their educational journeys.
