On June 17, Forest Road School kindergartners in Valley Stream District 30 held a superhero-themed moving up ceremony at the school’s gymnasium.

Kindergartners and their teachers wore vibrant shirts that read “Super Ready for 1st Grade” as the students each made a superhero pose in front of their parents and siblings after entering the gymnasium. Students performed a medley of songs for their family members centered around heroism and bravery, and Principal Kelly Nicholson commended each student for all of their incredible achievements. Afterward, each student received a certificate from their teachers, and they made a superhero pose once more on centerstage. Additionally, Superintendent of Schools Dr. Roxanne Garcia-France celebrated the kindergartners on taking the next step to first grade.

The district would like congratulate Forest Road’s kindergartners and wishes them the best of luck in first grade and beyond.
