Forest Road School in Valley Stream District 30 marked the end of summer and the beginning of an exciting new school year with its annual Principal Water Fun Day on Aug. 23. This year’s event was especially significant as it welcomed Principal Marisela Sanchez, who steps into her new role for the 2024-2025 academic year. Families and students, both new and returning, gathered for a day of fun-filled activities under the sun. The event served as an opportunity for families to connect with the Forest Road administrative team and school staff, fostering a sense of community and building relationships that are key to a successful school year.

Students engaged in various activities designed to promote their social and emotional well-being. From water games to team-building exercises, the day was filled with laughter and the joy of seeing new and familiar faces. The event also provided a chance for students to practice their conversational skills in a relaxed, supportive environment.

In addition to the water fun, families enjoyed summer treats and collaborated with school community representatives, gaining valuable insights into the upcoming school year. The day was a perfect blend of fun and preparation, leaving students and their families excited and ready to embrace the rhythm of a new school year.
"We are thrilled to have had such a wonderful turnout and to see the excitement on the faces of our students and families," Sanchez said. "This event was not only about having fun but also about strengthening our school community as we embark on another year of learning and growth together."
