Kindergartners at Forest Road School in Valley Stream District 30 recently celebrated their cultures during a culminating activity.  

Joined by their parents, kindergartners became docents for a day as they presented the school’s Museum of Meaningful Memories. Dressed in festive clothing and equipped with flags representing their heritage, students took turns to speak about their families’ home countries. Students also shared popular items and foods from their native countries. 

Afterwards, students divided into different stations in which they created a postcard of their favorite artifact, designed flags of a pretend country, and they enjoyed snacks at the Culture Café Snack Bar.
