On Jan. 28, fourth graders at Shaw Avenue School in Valley Stream District 30 participated in numerous activities to celebrate the Lunar New Year.  

Students worked in different stations as they learned how to write their names in Chinese, crafted dragons, and they read an informative slideshow about Chinese culture. Additionally, in celebration of the Lunar New Year, students learned that this is the Year of the Snake, which represents wisdom, intuition and transformation.
