On May 19, 12 educators in Valley Stream District 30 received tenure during the board of education’s monthly meeting.

Principals at all three schools created a thoughtful video to honor their amazing educators. All of the honorees received gifts from the board of education, and many received a flower bouquet from their principals. The board honored the following educators:

Clear Stream Avenue: Mackenzie Brown, Courtney Fitzpatrick, Jessica Price, Susana Valencia, and Jake Winston.

Forest Road: Aaminah Ahmad, Gabriella Duran, Jennifer Spiwak, and Poulette Villalobos.

Shaw Avenue: Elba Espinal, Darcel Franks, and Marie Loeffel.

The district would like to thank its staff members for all of their hard work and for being dedicated members of the Valley Stream 30 school community.

On April 22, students at Clear Stream Avenue School in Valley Stream 30 showcased their culinary skills during a special family cooking workshop. 

Hosted by Andrea Massop Ramos, an award-winning clinical nutritionist and private health chef who is the founder/CEO of Healthy FRIENDZ Nutrition, students and their parents worked together on preparing a variety of healthy meals. Ms. Ramos shared basic recipes for the students to use as they were allowed to customize their meals. Students used a wide array of fruits and vegetables such as bananas, apples, strawberries and cucumbers to create their tasty dishes.  

After the workshop, students were excited to prepare meals at home for their parents and siblings.
