On Wednesday, Sept. 5, the district officially welcomed students back to school for the start of the 2012-2013 school year. Throughout the morning, district administrators, faculty and staff greeted the children and helped them settle into their new routines. From kindergarteners beginning school for the first time to sixth-grade “veterans” of the district, students arrived eager to learn and reconnect with classmates.
Superintendent of Schools Dr. Nicholas A. Stirling said, “I always look forward to the first day of school because it marks new beginnings, hopes and goals. The entire staff and I are committed to ‘making a difference’ in the lives of the students we work with each day. With the support of our parents and community, we expect the 2012-13 school year to be filled with many successes and achievements for all of our students.”
