Kindergarten classes from Clear Stream Avenue School recently celebrated Earth Day. The students discovered the importance of reduce, reuse and recycle and listened to stories from their teachers Sandra Aragona and Christine Pope about how to protect the planet. The kindergartners also learned about how to conserve energy by turning off appliances and unplugging electronics that are not in use.

Each class created earth hats and decorated a bulletin board in the school hallway which featured written pledges by each student. In the pledges, the students wrote about how they will help the world. Some pledged to plant trees, while others pledged to pick up trash or shut off their water when it is not in use. Through the various Earth Day activities, the students recognized their important role in keeping the planet safe.
