The Valley Stream 30 School District is proud to introduce its Families Make a Difference Award for the 2017/18 school year. The district is reaching out to all members of the school community who have found unique and interesting ways to get involved in a child’s learning at home.
Whether you’re a parent, an older sibling, an aunt, an uncle or a grandparent, if you are helping a child improve his or her learning outside of the school day, the district wants your help! Take a photo of yourself helping a Valley Stream 30 student with their education and email it to your principal. The school that receives the most photos will be presented with the Families Make a Difference Award, which will be on display for the entire school year. Please note: Selected images may be featured on the school’s television, district website or district Facebook page.
“Being involved with a child’s learning at home helps that child improve his or her social, emotional and learning skills,” said Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction Dr. Roxanne France. “We look forward to honoring our educational community for their support of our students.”
Photos will be accepted from Feb. 1-March 29.
