PTA Board

CO-PRESIDENTS - To direct the affairs of the association in cooperation with the other members of the executive committee and the executive board for a term of office specified in the bylaws.

1ST VICE PRESIDENT  - Assumes the duties of the president in the event of the president's resignation and is responsible for notifying the public of meetings and upcoming events. 

2ND VICE PRESIDENT - Is responsible for incoming kindergarten registration.

3RD VICE PRESIDENT - Ways and Means.  Follows up with chairpersons for upcoming events and functions.

TREASURER - as authorized custodian of the funds of the association, receives and disburses all money as prescribed in the local bylaws or authorized by action of the association and, therefore, is covered under the New York State PTA insurance and fidelity bond which covers all PTA board members handling funds. The treasurer should issue a receipt for all monies issued.

MEMBERSHIP - To invite every parent, teacher, student, other school personnel and any interested citizen into active PTA membership. It is one of the most important duties in the entire organization - for nothing can happen without members.

RECORDING SECRETARY - The secretary is responsible for keeping accurate records of the proceedings of the association.

COUNCIL DELEGATE - The connecting link between the member unit and the council.

CORRESPONDING SECRETARY - Conducts the correspondence of the association.

TEACHER DELEGATE - Encourages teacher support for PTA  programs and  discuss PTA programs at teacher meetings and bring concerns of the teachers to the PTA .
