Seven fourth grade students from throughout the district recently participated in the Nassau Music Educators Association’s All-County P.E.A.K. Music Festival at Freeport High School. P.E.A.K., which stands for Parents, Educators And Kids, invites select fourth grade musicians from across Nassau County to attend music workshops with their teachers and parents.
Forest Road students Joseph Frank, Sarah Gittens and Abigail Na and Shaw Avenue students Julissa Montalban, Kota Okita, Aidania Wright and Audrina Wright attended the festival with their loved ones, along with music teachers Stephanie Fischer and Sarah Fernandez. Throughout the day, the students, parents and teachers engaged in interactive music workshops that fit their interests. At the conclusion of the festival, the students performed a concert together. It was a great experience for all!
