District Welcomes New Director of Technology
The Board of Education is pleased to announce that Patrick Fogarty will join the district as its new director of technology, effective June 8. Mr. Fogarty, a Long Island-based speaker, author, educator, and consultant, has spent over a decade finding creative uses for technology in the classroom. He recently released Going One-to-One: iPads and Mobile Devices in Education, a primer on 1:1 deployments that has become a staple of education technology learning programs.
Mr. Fogarty has served as the Technology Coordinator for the Diocese of Brooklyn and Queens, one of the largest private school districts in the U.S., and as the Faculty Advisor of Instructional Technology at New York City’s first iPad 1:1 school. Most recently, he worked as the Implementation Team Leader for eSpark Learning, an education app platform serving tens of thousands of students.
Mr. Fogarty is an Apple Distinguished Educator, Google Certified Trainer, and has an M.S. in Education from Fordham University and an M.A. in English from Brooklyn College of the City University of New York.
According to Superintendent of Schools Dr. Nicholas Stirling, “We welcome Mr. Fogarty to our administrative team and look forward to his contributions to further evolve our use of technology within the district.”
