Valley Stream District 30 is pleased to announce the appointment of Christopher Malone, the district’s new Director of Facilities and Operations. Malone replaced former director Russell Costa on July 1, 2018.

Malone, a West Islip resident, joins the district with a wealth of administrative knowledge as he has served a number of school districts throughout the years. Before joining District 30, Malone was the Coordinator of Support Services in the Middle Country Central School District. He has also previously held the Director of Facilities III role in the East Williston Union Free School District and the Rocky Point Union Free School District, was Assistant to the Superintendent in the Plainview Old-Bethpage Central School District and was the Director of Transportation in the Long Beach Union Free School District. In addition to his career with schools, Malone was a finance-bond trader for 15 years in Manhattan and the owner/operator of a construction and renovations company.

He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from SUNY College at Buffalo, a Master of Business Administration from Hofstra University and a New York State Certificate of Advanced Study in education administration. Malone looks forward to his new role in District 30. He hopes to “bring to the district and the community a clear motive in maintaining an environment conducive to learning for students,” he said and seeks “a proper regimen of observing, inspecting and following protocol to produce healthy and safe spaces.”
