On Thursday, May 26, Shaw Avenue School celebrated Red Nose Day, a special day to have fun, come together and make a difference for kids who need help the most in the United States and around the world.  Students, teachers and staff members each wore a red nose to school and took a large group picture together.

To assist in the Red Nose Day mission of helping children in need, the teachers and staff contributed money to be donated to the INN in Hempstead. The INN addresses the issues of hunger and homelessness on Long Island by providing food, shelter, long-term housing and supportive services in a dignified and respectful manner for those who seek help. The Inn is a not-for-profit, volunteer-based organization with a dedicated staff, a broad base of community support and a commitment to educate the public about these issues.

The school thanks Mr. Clark and Mrs. Rossello for their efforts in coordinating Red Nose Day.
