Third-grade students at Forest Road Elementary School recently visited the Museum of Chinese in America (MOCA) in New York City. When students arrived, they visited three different exhibits within the museum. They first learned about the Chinese lion costume and watched a video of one marching in a parade. The students then visited “The General Store” exhibit, where Chinese spices, money counting devices, and other common were displayed.

Later, the third-graders learned how to write the words “person, big and sky” in Chinese using calligraphy-style print. To end the visit, students were quizzed on their Chinese knowledge by their tour guide.

The school would like to thank all the teachers and chaperones for this unforgettable trip.
