The district is pleased to announce the appointment of Susan Rodriguez, new Administrative Director for 21st Century Learning. During the district’s board of education meeting on Nov. 26, Superintendent of Schools Dr. Nicholas Stirling announced that Ms. Rodriguez will move into the role previously held by Jennifer Lewner who was recently promoted to Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction. 

Ms. Rodriguez joins District 30 with more than 25 years of experience in the fields of computer science and mathematics. Prior to her new role in the district, Ms. Rodriguez was a computer science and mathematics teacher at Robert Finley Middle School in the Glen Cove City School District since 2005. From 1998-2005, Ms. Rodriguez was a computer science teacher at Glen Cove High School. 

Among her other career endeavors, she served years in private practice as a website designer, was a business owner and a network support specialist through IBM. Her passion for technology has allowed her to work with general and special education classes. She spent years with the Intercounty Teacher Resource Center as a policy board member and liaison to the Glen Cove School District and designed and taught a variety of technology courses. Ms. Rodriguez also worked in the New York City Department of Education as a computer science teacher and school computer coordinator at Louis Pasteur Middle School. 

She received her Bachelor of Technology degree in electro-mechanical computer technology from the New York Institute of Technology, her Master of Arts degree in elementary education from Adelphi University, her Master of Science degree in instructional technology from the New York Institute of Technology and her School Building Leadership/School District Leadership advanced certificate from St. John’s University.
