Sticking with Shaw Avenue Elementary School’s annual tradition, boys and girls from the Shaw Avenue Athletic Club recently participated in student versus staff basketball games to promote teamwork and healthy competition. 

Under the guidance of coach Eric Van Keuren, the girls played the female staff on Jan. 9 while the boys played on Jan. 17 against male staff members. The school-wide event was held in the gymnasium where classes lined the sidelines and cheered on their peers and faculty members. 

The girls game concluded with the students winning 28-18, while the boys game was a close match, tying with the faculty team for the second year in a row, 52-52.
