Forest Road School was recently crowned the champion of the coveted Waldinger Library Cup at the Henry Waldinger Memorial Library for the second straight year.

Working in close partnership with the Waldinger staff and specifically children’s librarian Jaclyn Kunz, the school actively engaged in the library’s reading program this past summer. Forest Road’s library media specialist On Kyung Joo helped encourage students to join as well. The program, which is open to students across the Valley Stream area, awards first place to the school with the highest number of readers and the highest average number of “reads” during the course of the summer.

“Students and parents are congratulated on their hard work and consistent efforts in bringing the cup home to the Forest once again,” said Principal Erin Malone. “This organization is a true gem in our community and families are encouraged to avail themselves of the wide variety of activities offered by the Henry Waldinger Memorial Library.”
