As part of the district’s STEAM program, Forest Road Elementary School students in fifth and sixth grade working with Karen Regenstein and Debbie Howland recently gathered for an engaging team building activity to strengthen their thinking skills.

The district’s STEAM program encourages students to put their curiosity and creativity to work by finding innovative solutions to real-world problems through a variety of STEAM challenges throughout the school year.

For this challenge, the students were put in pairs and were instructed to stack cups into different patterns using only a rubber band with string attached. The group learned how to overcome challenges, communicate, work together and have fun.

“This was a great team building activity that taught our students to work, be patient and encourage each other in a fun environment,” said STEAM aide Danielle Ardito.
