Select students returned to school with the necessities needed for a successful 2018-19 school year, thanks to the generous donation of Senator Todd Kaminsky. Through his annual school supply drive, the Senator donated 50 backpacks filled with No. 2 pencils, pens, notebooks, folders, crayons, colored pencils, rulers, safety scissors and binders to the district.

The backpacks were distributed among Clear Stream Avenue School, Forest Road School and Shaw Avenue School and are handed out to students on an as needed basis with teacher and parent requests.

“Many students do not have access to the essential school supplies they need to be successful,” said Senator Todd Kaminsky. “And we all know that when communities band together, great things happen. My school supply drive is a small investment that will make a big impact in helping the students of our community achieve their full potential.”

The district is grateful to Senator Kaminsky for helping students get the tools they need to help them reach their fullest potential.

“We are thankful to Senator Kaminsky for supporting the school and our families,” said Shaw Avenue Principal Alejandro Rivera. “This donation will help ensure that every student has the basic necessities needed to learn.”
